Babysitting mobile app for a startup Hop!Nanny in Uzbekistan
Hop!Nanny is a tool focused on helping communities in Tashkent (Uzbekistan) find nannies with good recommendations. Parents and nannies need a platform to be connected easily by their location. Hop!Nannys’ primary target users include working professionals with children and babysitters who are looking for part-time and full-time jobs.

Conducting interviews, paper and digital wireframing, low and high-fidelity prototyping, conducting usability studies, accounting for accessibility, iterating on designs and responsive design.
  • Research

Working parents in Uzbekistan now often live far from home, with no relatives nearby to give extra help with the kids. Some of them have flexible hours and need no permanent nanny, however sometimes they search a babysitter part-time. Current products for searching nannies are very confusing and not user-friendly.
  • User testing results

These were the main findings uncovered by the usability study:
    1) People want clear start button and better cues for what steps are required to find a nanny.
    2) People were unsure how to set a repeating schedule for babysitting.
Based on the insights from the usability study, I applied design changes like providing a clear start from the home screen for parents and babysitters.
  • Takeaways

Users shared that the app made finding a babysitter seem like something they could actually do without getting confused and frustrated.
I learned that even though the problem I was trying to solve was a delicate one, diligently going through each step of the design process and aligning with specific user needs helped me come up with solutions that were both feasible and useful.
